You first want to inspect the tip of the filament you are planning on loading into your Quil. You want to make sure that it is smooth. If you had unloaded this filament from your Quil you will want to use a pair of clippers to cut the filament. Once your filament is ready then you can proceed to heat up your Quil by pressing the “In” button once. You will wait for it to reach 180° C.
Take your filament and place it into the filament input and you will feel a small tug on the filament. Do not apply additional pressure as it may damage your Quil.
At this point you have two options to load filament.
Manual Feed: Press the “In” button to manually feed the PLA filament, this will take 30-45 seconds to reach the tip of the pen. If you stop holding down the “In” button the filament will stop feeding. You can then press and hold the “In” button again to resume feeding the filament.
Constant Feed: Press the “In” button twice to begin constantly feeding filament into your Quil. Once you see filament coming out from the tip of the pen you may begin printing or press the “In” button again to stop the feed. To restart your print and the constant feed, press the “In” button twice.
